Our first Distribution Center is located in Matthews, a suburb of Charlotte, NC.

Distribution Center Statistics

The Matthews, NC Distribution Center was the first major facility to open and is located next to our Corporate Office. This DC began as a small warehouse with approximately 145,000 square feet and serving 200 stores. This distribution center now services stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.

From Interstates 77 & 85:

From Interstate 85, north / south, exit onto Interstate 77 south. Follow Interstate 77 south approximately 2 miles to Brookshire Freeway east (this is also Hwy 16). Stay in the extreme left lane. Exit the first left exit. This is Independence Blvd (also U.S. Hwy. 74). Follow this through Charlotte. After approximately 5 miles, U.S. Hwy 74, Independence Blvd. will intersect with Sardis Road (Sardis Road only turns right at this intersection). This will be at Crown Point (There are large brick entry columns on both sides of Sardis Road, marked Crown Point). Turn right onto Sardis Road. At the second traffic light turn left onto Old Monroe Road. Approximately 3/4 of a mile on your left will be the Family Dollar complexes. The first building will be marked Family Dollar, North Building. The second building on your left will be marked Family Dollar, South Building.

From Interstate 485:

Traveling north on I-77 from South Carolina, exit onto I-485 toward Pineville (this will be a right exit just north of the North Carolina Welcome Center). Follow I-485 through Pineville to Matthews exit number 52, approximately 10 miles. (Be sure to take the 2nd Matthews Exit; do not exit at Hwy 51.) Exit onto the ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto Old Monroe Road (also John Street). Follow Old Monroe Road through the town of Matthews. After passing through the second traffic light, you will travel approximately 1/2 mile. The Family Dollar facilities will be on your right.

From U.S. Hwy 74 east (coastal North Carolina):

Upon entering the town limits of Matthews, exit onto U.S. Hwy 51. You will exit to your right. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto U.S. Hwy 51. At the 4th traffic light, you will turn right onto Old Monroe Road (John Street). You will travel approximately 1/2 mile. The Family Dollar facilities will be on your right.
