Throw a Big Game Party for Under $25

It’s the biggest game of the year, and everyone’s watching at your place! No matter what the final score, you’ll be a winner – if you make sure your pre-game routine includes a trip to Family Dollar. With so many supplies available at affordable prices, you can grab everything from paper goods to delicious snacks. Check out our tips for how to throw a fun game watch party this Sunday for under $25!

Use disposable paper plates and napkins. For only $1-$3 each package, you can grab disposable plates, cups and utensils. You’ll have just what you need for everyone to enjoy your food and drinks – with easy cleanup when it’s over.

Make your own desserts. With cake mixes, icing and cookie mixes all ringing up at $1-$2 each, you can easily make a tray of delicious, adorable desserts everyone will love. Use food coloring to add team colors to the cupcakes or icing to make them look like footballs!

Serve simple appetizers. Check out the frozen food section of your Family Dollar for inexpensive bags of frozen meatballs. Combine that with a $1 bottle of BBQ sauce and a $1 jar of grape jelly in a slow cooker to create tasty sweet and sour meatballs. Or, make your own cheesy dip with a package of cheese spread and canned tomatoes with green chili. Serve with a bag of tortilla chips and grab some salsa. Throw in a can of chili for a “chili con queso” everyone will love.

Don’t forget the decorations! Family Dollar always has great seasonal decorations under $5, but you can also go with simple things like using your team color tissue streamers around entry ways. Add in a few balloons (a package is $1) to pull it all together. Get your kids involved and let them use a piece of poster board and markers to create a team banner ($1 each for poster and markers).

Make your own games. Pick up an extra piece of poster board and use markers to create a fun, giant game board. You can make a giant board to make guesses at what the winning score will be at the end of the game or use it to throw bean bags at for a fun contest.

Make your own fruit punch. If you have enough room left in your budget, grab a gallon of Hawaiian Punch and a carton of sherbet. Combine the two in a large punch bowl for a creamy, cold, delicious punch! Mix and match for fun combinations everyone will enjoy drinking. Fruit punch goes perfectly with orange or rainbow sherbet. Raspberry punch goes great with lime sherbet.

Go shopping at your Family Dollar for great food, decorations, and supplies to throw the ultimate fun game watch party this Sunday for under $25! It's so easy to throw a party for your friends and family on a budget when you shop the deals at your local Family Dollar.
